We’re so excited to welcome you to the edchatNZ conference, which is now just days away. Here are some useful tips, tricks and reminders so that you are able to have the best learning experience possible.
What to expect
We promised you a conference like no other - and it will be! Expect to be respectfully coaxed out of your comfort zone. So, in addition to ‘crunchy’ keynote speakers, engaging workshops, and a commitment to sustainability, everyone will be placed into a “learning tribe” and supported by a trained mentor. We want to ensure that you will have the opportunity to make personal connections and to be pushed in your thinking. The #edchatNZ challenge to you is to create an action plan (a Possibilities Project) of something that you will work on collaboratively post-conference. Many thanks to CORE Education and their uChoose programme for supporting our wonderful tribe mentors.
What to bring
Bring your sense of adventure and fizzy ideas for a Possibilities Project! Oh, and a drink bottle (sustainable, remember?!); money for coffee (what else will fuel you?!); all the devices and their charging friends (we recommend you label these); and your favourite stationery (think post-its and glitter). If you haven’t ordered meals, make sure you BYOK (bring your own kai). You can add kai onto your ticket by 5pm Tuesday if you need to. We’re looking into a ‘tribal gathering’ on the Friday evening. If you’d like to join us, please fill in this form by 5pm Tuesday and we’ll let you know details at the conference.
When to arrive
Registrations open at 9am on Friday and 8am on Saturday, and the days both end at 6pm. Rototuna Junior High School’s address is: Kimbrae Drive, Rototuna North. As you might expect for a ‘green’ conference, there isn’t parking on site. More parking details are available below.
